Take Me Down, sizzling hot interracial romance (BWWM), is a stand alone novel in the Suits in Pursuit series.
One night changed destiny. Six years later, Ashley Turner is confronted by the anger and bitterness that has become her crutch. Scars have left her calloused and with an attitude as sour as vinegar served neat, keeping men at a necessary distance.
Real estate investor Sebastian Stone has a huge problem. The high-rise on Peachtree Street is a financial drain on his business. A personal tragedy left him void of a solution and harboring a grudge against women bigger than his salty alter ego.
Fate orchestrates a series of events that unite the two tortured souls, proving their chance acquaintance is anything but coincidence. Unhealed wounds, lies and betrayal at play between them cannot stop the forces of attraction.
To land the promotion Ashley wants and to save everything Sebastian has spent a lifetime building, they are bound by necessity to work together. Unhinged passion erupts, but revenge threatens the second chance at love that fate intended.
Sebastian’s eyes glued to Ashley as
he sank into a chair. Her strong, confident attitude had ensnared him like a
fly caught in a web. He watched her movements, examined her expressions, tried
to understand her reaction. He rubbed sweaty hands on his thighs.
Branches hung overhead captured
Ashley’s attention. Her gaze scanned the room again. The room, filled with
greenery, mimicked a treetop. A mural of red robins and birds’ nests covered
the walls.
He leaned closer, resting his chin in
his palm. “Do you like my surprise?” Ashley’s glossy-eyed stare made Sebastian
sweat.
Jolted, she whirled around in the
seat. “The room is beautiful. How did you know?”
He frowned. “How did I know what?”
I was given book for honest review. 1st book I’ve read in this series and while I would like to go back and read about the other couples I didn’t feel like I was missing out on too much when reading this one. Ashley has had her heart crushed in unfortunate way, so she has closed it off to no more relationships. Sebastian is much the same. Both used to getting what they want now they want each other but can they handle a one night stand to turn into something longer? Thought the incorporation of the messages from beyond or from fate depending on who you ask were a very personal touch for both characters.
