Review

I was given book for honest review. Snow comes from a family of vampire slayers and wants to join them - why not she can fight too? Sage has been exiled from his kingdom by a great evil. Read to find out the happenings when slayer and vampire join up. Attraction, mayhem, danger the book is packed. Rebekah Ganiere hasn’t disappointed me since I started reading her books. Filled with characters of the paranormal her books grab your attention in a way that keeps you coming back for more.

EXCERPT:

Snow wriggled underneath him trying to get free. Why was she always on the ground? His strong body pressed into hers, heating her blood and quickening her heartbeat.

"Stop moving," he said. "You're making this hard for me to remain calm."

"Tell me what you need!" she demanded.

"I need to drink your blood," he yelled.

Snow stopped struggling. Her breath caught and her gaze locked on his as terror ran through her. Memories of Sonya's mouth on her neck, feeling the life drain out of her. The pain, the helplessness. All of it flooded in.

Sage lowered his head with a heavy, defeated breath. “It’s the only way.” He rolled off her and crouched on the floor by a curio.

His face darkened and his fangs gleamed in the candlelight. For the first time she saw him clearly for what he was. Sage was kind, and gentle, and strong. But he was also a vampire. He was like Sonya, and the ones her brothers killed. He was a killer, albeit that he no longer fed from humans, he had once.

"How many humans have you killed?" she whispered.

Sage's eyes turned sad and pleaded with her not to ask.

"How many?"

"Many." He hung his head between his knees. "I was spoiled and indulgent. I was given whatever I wanted. I thought for no one but myself."

Snow sat up, her body aching from the stone floor. "A hundred?"

He didn't look up.

"A thousand? Two?" she asked in an almost inaudible voice

He met her gaze, his lips drew into a tight grim line.

Her body shook. She no longer wanted to know. "How long has it been since you've drunk from a human?"

"Over fifty years."

Hope sprung within her. "So you're good now."

"No." He shook his head. "I'm not. I'm a monster and always will be. No matter how many people I don't kill, it doesn't matter. The blood of the ones I have killed, still haunts me."

Snow crawled toward him, but he shied away.

"You should go. Leave this place. Return to your brothers and your home. Find a royal human male. Marry him and have many chubby children. Leave the fate of those in Tanah Darah to me."

"Is that really what you want?" She moved closer still.

"There is no hope for us, Snow. No life that we can live in peace. You saw what happened with Sonya. If you stayed here, I would have to fight off all the friends I have left, just to keep you safe."

Snow's heart crumbled at his words. She knew he was right. The game they'd been playing was never to last. She couldn't leave her brothers, and he would never stop trying to regain his kingdom. But it didn't matter. Nothing else mattered. Right now, all she could do was heal him

About the Author

Rebekah is an award winning author. Her novel Dead Awakenings, debuted in January 2014. Red the Were Hunter, the first in her Farielle Series, released in May. The second book Snow the Vampire Slayer will be releasing in September 22, 2014. And her trilogy The Society will be released Nov. 17th 2014 by Kensington's Lyrical Press. PLAYLIST AND NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR

I have sung since the day I learned to talk. I have a perfect sense of pitch and an uncanny knack for hearing a song once and being able to pick up the tune instantly. I also have a thing for memorizing, so music lyrics are easy for me. All those things combined with my father teaching me the benefit of amazing music, had me growing up as someone who couldn’t live without it.

I’ve been asked many times if I had to choose between losing my sight or losing my hearing, which I would prefer and I always say, my sight. I just couldn’t live without music.

So it should come as no surprise that I listen to music when I write. Especially dramatic or intensely emotional scenes.

Snow the Vampire Slayer was no exception. Snow is a strong, independent, yet deeply loving woman. And Sage is a tormented and witty yet heroic man. Because of that, I needed music that represented both them as well as the love that blossomed between them.

So here is a list of five songs that I listened to while writing Snow the Vampire Slayer.

5. Kelly Clarkson – Dark side. I love this song because it sums up Sage all together. He is so dark and tormented but wants so badly to have someone to open up to. He wants Snow to love him and his dark side, but he’s afraid that when she finds out what he really is, she won’t.

4. Christina Perri – A Thousand Years. I think this song fits Sage so well. First of all, he’s a vampire so he’s old. Second he’s been waiting a long time not only to find someone to love, but also to take back the throne that was stolen from him.

3. Jordin Sparks – Battlefield. Snow is tough lady and I thought this song very appropriate for her. She’s tried many times to find love but in the end it’s been a battle for her. And in the case of her and Sage it really does start a war and she gets stuck in the middle. So I really loved this song for her.

2. Sara Bareillis – Brave. I thought this song is great for Snow because for most of the book she’s strong, but she never really stands up to her brothers. It isn’t until something out of her control happens to her that she finally finds her inner strength to be brave and speak for herself and do what she wants to do, instead of what everyone expects her to.

1. The Candian Tenors – Hallelujah. So this is one of my all time favorite songs. The emotions in this song just get to me. There is one section that I think really represents what Snow did to Sage:

Your faith was strong but you needed proof, You saw her bathing on the roof, Her beauty and the moon light over threw ya, She tied you to a kitchen chair, She broke your throne, she cut your hair, And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah.

That’s what Snow did to him, she got to Sage in places he didn’t know he could be gotten to and in the end he couldn’t live without her.
